Panjiayuan Antiques Market is situated at the south of the East Third Ring Road. The market deals mainly in antiques, secondhand goods, arts and crafts. As the biggest antiques market in Asia, it covers an area of 4.85 hectares of land, and divided into open-air area, semi-covered area and stores in buildings. The open-air area is a flea market which just opens on the weekend, it is also the most interesting part, because many folk antique owners will come to join the weekend fair, here you will
see many interesting old goods which could not be seen at stores, this is a great place for bargain hunters. If you would like to sightsee or buy some antiques, we suggest weekend only, but should be very carefully to buy antiques, it is very difficult to say they are genuine articles or fake, unless you are an expert.
